A. I can't remember whether automatic renewal was an option when I subscribed.
B. I have closed the VISA account that I used to subscribe.
C. So if automatic renewal was in there, I want to use a different card.

Hi Wally,
No, we don't do automatic renewals. We think they're a bit presumptuous, not to mention a little sneaky. When your subscription is about to lapse, you'll receive an email (about 7-10 days before) reminding you. If you decide not to renew, you'll receive an email that confirms your subscription has expired.
It's similar to the whole opt-in vs. opt-out email debate. We strongly support the opt-in camp, as we believe it should be your overt choice to receive any emails, offers etc. from a company, not the default. And by the same token, it should be your overt choice to renew your subscription. Automatically taking your money for a renewal seems to appeal to other magazines, but not us.
Thanks for your support!
