In spite of the fact that the climate here is so adverse to riding, surely there are other Southern California riders on this forum. Maybe we're all too busy riding to post?

You're not the only one.
I do spend my share of time riding though, to work most every day too. Laughing

Ditto, that. Just a few years ago I spent at least one Sunday a month up in the canyons or on The Crest, and a few years before that it was almost every weekend. I, and most of my riding buddies, have found married/working life to be too time-consuming to leave any room for recreational rides. Now, I commute most days on two wheels. I'm almost embarrassed to have just replaced my rear tire (because of a nail) and seen the flat profile in the center of the tread. I still feel the passion. I keep up with the sport in the publications: Roadracing World, American Motorcyclist (you're all AMA members, right?), and I've got to remember to renew my Citybike subscription.

I do ride to work most days, but the majority of my mileage comes from my one day off per month that I get to go riding, up to the Santa Monica Mtns, or South to San Diego, Palomar, etc.
I also try to squeeze in a mid-week morning lap of the Ortega Hwy every week if I can. That sure helps to keep me sharp.
