For all of the undeniable benefits of Jaguar, the fact remains that for many of us it is still substantialy slower than OS 9. And with careful setup (Conflict Catcher is a big help), OS 9 can be very stable.
True, Jaguar is a far more advanced OS, and multitasking and protected memory make OS 9 look sick. But I wish Apple had spent more time developing the speed of OS X and less time on the eye candy... |

| I work with both MAC and Windows pc's and I like OSX a lot better but that may be because it is starting to become more like windows and I know more about windows. I dont have many problems with crashes and conflicts but I always had trouble running as many apps in OS9 as I could under windows but now with OSX I find it is as good or better than Windows. I find the speed does not matter as much since I seem to be able to get more things done with OSX anyway even if it is a little slower. |
